Day 37

Hello everyone! I am so exhausted! Today me and my host mom had girls day! We dropped Halu off at the daycare and caught the train to Asakusa, Tokyo! We got off the train and headed to shop. Asakusa is set up like the old time Japan with many different vendors set up in traditional shops. It was really cool. There was also a temple and it was really pretty! I bought sooo much. I spent $279 even! After we were finished shopping and looking around we headed to Ginza to shop some more. Ruby is going to be so jealous I know. We went to the Sanrio store. It was crazy! There was so much stuff I didnt even know where to start. My feet started to hurt so we went to dinner and it was really yummy. We had a lot of food! After that, we went back to where we came from and the. walked to downtown Ginza. It was so beautiful! Ginza is the most expensive part of Tokyo. The main strip was covered with stores like Bulgari, tiffany & co, cartier, Louis Vuitton, and soooo much more. It was fun to look around but we decided to head home. Home for today is my host moms parents house. Its in Tsukishima, Ginza and they live in an apartment. It is absolutely gorgeous and the view from their apartment is amazing. After dropping off our stuff, my host mom and I went for a walk along the riverside and it was honestly so gorgeous. I love to view so much. You could see the Tokyo Skytree and it was all lit up. Once we returned, I took a shower but disaster struck! I got a bloody nose as soon as I stepped out of the shower. It wasnt too bad and I was able to get it under control after a few minutes.  Hi! Today was my first full day in Japan! I figured I would update this every night before I go to bed. But I realize it’s like 5 am for you guys lol. Anyways, my first day was awesome! For breakfast we had rice, sunny side up eggs, miso soup, and natto. Natto is a traditional breakfast item and its basically very sticky beans. I didnt really like them but it was okay. I helped clean up and then me and my host dad, kyohei, went exploring the town! He renovates houses so he showed me his current project and another house he did. I may be able to help him paint some of the house! After that we went to a small shop in town to get dango 🍡 and we stopped at a convenience store. It was really cool, they had a lot of things. Then we went home and had some noodles for lunch. At about 1:50, kyohei and I went to catch a bus to the train station. We took the train to togane train station and went to go see my school! Travel Day

 Hello everyone! This is my first post lol. I’m writing this as I am sitting in the Chicago International Airport waiting for my flight. We left our house at 7:00 AM to catch my 11:50 flight. As we were about 20 minutes away, I learned that the flight got delayed until 3:30 PM. So here I am, in the airport waiting for another 2 hours. TSA was really nerve wrecking to go through alone but I made it! I was sad to say bye to my family but it all turned out okay. I am quite nervous about my flight. It’s 13 hours 😔. However, I think I will be okay. I am excited to land in Japan and meet my host family!  P.S ignore the labels on top until I figure out how to get rid of them lol this airport WiFi kinda sucks

Day 2

 Hello! Today was ny first day of school! It was very exciting. My host dad drove me to the train station so I could catch a train to Tōgane. I was alone and waiting for the train when a girl came up to me and introduced herself. Turns out she was in my class at school! She introduced me to her friends and boyfriend and we rode the train together. We met up with Stef (the other exchange student at our school) and walked to school together. All of the students are very nice and made me welcome cards! They helped me understand what is happening during class. After school we toured the clubs. I havent decided what clubs to do yet. I was invited to many. I want to join volleyball club, karate, koto, and tea ceremony. Me and Stef went to the train station and met up with some other students. We invited them to go shopping with us. Only two if then could come and it ended up being really fun. We went to a huge mall and shopped! Then we got food at the food court.
